March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month

In a report compiled in 2023 by The International Labour Organization and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, “an estimated 3.5 million eye injuries occur in workplaces around the world every year.”1But there are ways to protect and prevent eye injuries whether in a manufacturing or office setting. For instance, safety eyewear protects against metal shards, wood splinters, and splattered chemicals while anti-reflective lenses reduce glare and block blue light from digital devices such as a computer screen. 2 For us, it’s not just about processing claims for medical eye care services. It’s about demonstrating to our clients that routine, comprehensive eye exams play a vital role in overall health. But we can’t do it without you. When a patient visits your practice, remember that disease reporting is integrated right into your claims submission process. When filing an eye exam claim, you can simply click the box if any of the following conditions are present, even if your visit did not treat the condition(s): abnormal pupil, ARMD, cataract, diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension.
